Name/Handle: StewBloo (Stew Bloomfield)
Location: United Kingdom
Favorite cosplay and why: Probably Bossk ( The Bounty Hunter From The Empire Strikes Back) It's uncommon as a costume, yet also recognized ( especially now that kids are playing Battlefront 2)
How long you’ve been cosplaying: I think I finished my First "Cosplay" as an adult in 2009, but only really got into it becoming a regular thing since 2015 when I discovered charity costume groups.
Do you create your own or have it commissioned: I like to make my own costumes ( With the aid of my wife's sewing skills). I've had to learn new skills especially working with Latex, Resin, and Silicone for masks and more recently 3D printing. I did put an armor kit together for my wife once, but otherwise, I tend to scratch build.
Favorite thing about Cosplaying: Cosplaying or Costuming is something that I can do on the weekend with my family and Sentinel Squad UK, having a reason to have a bit of fun in a costume and at the same time raise money for charities.
Favorite Experiences Cosplaying: Bringing a smile to any child's face ( even the big kids! )
Advice for new cosplayers: Don't be afraid to have a go at building something for yourself. I get people asking me to build something for them, and if I suggest that they could do it themselves they almost reject the idea. I've failed at building lots of things, but they tend to work out in the end and over time you build a skill set to advance your own costumes..... after all a costume is never "Finished". Most of the time budget has prevented me from building a costume piece, so I've had to learn how to make it myself- the internet is very likely to have all the information you need!
